How It Works
This tracker calculates how far along you are by comparing today’s date to your estimated due date (or your LMP, if entered instead), then converts that into completed weeks and days, along with an overall percentage of pregnancy completed.
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters: weeks 1 to 13, weeks 14 to 27, and weeks 28 to 40, each associated with different stages of fetal development and different common symptoms. The tracker uses your current week to show which trimester you’re in and what’s typically happening at this stage.
Since due dates are estimates rather than fixed deadlines, your actual delivery date may fall anywhere within a normal range of 37 to 42 weeks, so treat the percentage shown as a helpful guide rather than a precise countdown to birth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is pregnancy progress calculated?
Pregnancy progress is calculated as the percentage of 280 days (40 weeks) that have passed since the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). If using the due date, we calculate how many days remain until your due date and work backward to determine your current gestational age.
What are the pregnancy trimesters?
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters:
First Trimester: Weeks 1–13 (0–33% complete)
Second Trimester: Weeks 14–27 (33–67% complete)
Third Trimester: Weeks 28–40 (67–100% complete)
Is a 40-week pregnancy the standard?
Yes, 40 weeks (280 days) from LMP is considered full-term. However, only about 4% of babies are born on their exact due date. A pregnancy is considered full-term between 39 weeks 0 days and 40 weeks 6 days. Early-term is 37–38 weeks, and late-term is 41–42 weeks.
Can I track my progress weekly?
Absolutely! Use this tracker as often as you like. The week grid shows your progress across all 40 weeks completed weeks are highlighted, your current week is marked, and future weeks are shown in light gray. You can also check the milestones list to see what lies ahead.
What if I go past my due date?
It is common to go past your due date. The progress tracker will show over 100% if you pass 40 weeks. Your healthcare provider will monitor you closely and may discuss induction if you reach 41–42 weeks. Always follow your provider’s recommendations.
